Being heavily involved in racing at a club level is where Mark's passion for motorsport began. Off the race track it was cutting his teeth in executive recruitment where Mark gained valuable experience in sales and the importance of professional service. The combination of energy, enthusiasm and  drive led to an opportunity to work within the motorsport industry, Race Fuels Pty Ltd was founded in January 2003.

Fuel: A Proud Heritage

It comes as little surprise for those who have known the Tierney family and Mark's passion for cars and motorsport that racing fuel has become a career opportunity. Fuel has been a focus for the family for three generations. As the Second World War ended, Mark’s Grandfather, Ron Tyson established Tyson’s fuel at Moorabin Airport. This company still runs today as Tyson’s Fueling Service Pty Ltd. In 1985 Mark’s father Gary undertook an ambitious business enterprise, the Shell distributorship for regional Victoria. Running Race Fuels Pty Ltd has provided an ideal platform for Mark and Gary to work together for the first time. In 2007 Race Fuels began operating out of 18 - 24 Moray Street Southbank, a perfect location for retail sales, race car storage and a muscle car build shop.

Mixing Business with Pleasure

In an attempt to find a balance between the demands of business, enjoying his limited spare time and staying in touch with the needs of today’s racers. Mark continues to enjoy motorsport at a competitive level. In 2003 Mark Tierney became the youngest ever navigator to win the Targa Tasmania Platinum Trophy.  Competing is the best way to understand the needs and expectations of our customers. A regular club racer, Mark also enters a number of professional events such as the Winton Six Hour, Phillip Island 6 Hour, Dutton's Rally Victoria the Mount Buller Sprint, Drive Bathurst and Bathurst Motor Festival.

Competing in Gravel Rally for the first time in 2004 as a navigator for rising rally star Ivan Thompson in a 1995 Subaru Impreza STI was an excellent opportunity for Mark to experience the off road side of motorsport while gaining further experience and knowledge of gravel rallying which is a very important market for Elf Racing Fuels.

Fuel Supply for drive days and media launches

in 2008 Race Fuels Pty Ltd embarked on a new service offering, remote refueling for events, drive days and media launches, Race Fuels can coordinate quality fuel and retail spec bowsers to service any road or race track in Australia, our unique service has been well received, within the first three years Race Fuels has provided a fuel service for the following:

 - Mitsubishi Evo X Launch and drive day
 - BMW X1 Launch
 - Lamborghini corportate drive day
 - BMW driver training
 - Renault RS250 Launch
 - Marranello Motorsport Ferrari track days

Endurance Circuit Racing & Special Events

When you combine our DG training and experience with access to quality 98 RON Unleaded fuel, Leaded racing fuel and E85, Race Fuels Pty Ltd is well placed to offer a control fuel service to circuit racing and rally events. Race Fuels has successfully supply the control fuel and fuel services for the following events:
