Elf WRF assists Stephen Bradford to win 2007 Modified and WRX Club Championship

Congratulations to Steve Bradford who had a great result at the recent Morwell Hill Climb, WRX club event- 1st place and new lap record.
In 2007 this aspiring champion has won 6 out of 6 sprints and also set a new lap record at every track day giving him the .
Outside of club level racing he finished 4th outright in his 3rd Tarmac Rally in May, 2nd in class.

2006 results (1st year competing):
Last year I have achieved solid results against other competitors in superior vehicles. In the WRX Club of Victoria sprints I finished a close 2nd in the Modified Championship to Vin Macaro (the Head Tuner for STI Docklands) who drives a Docklands sponsored WRX in the modified class.
I competed in the Dutton Rally and managed to knock off a number of EVO’s, WRX’s and Porches, I finished 12th outright as a driver.
In my 1st Targa event at Mount Buller I finished 22nd from a field of 80+ and was one of the few cars that didn’t have a support crew, it was also the 1st Targa event that my co-driver had done as well. You can see the times progressively improving throughout the event (by the end my times were very close to the top 10).
2007 results:
- Calder Park January in the Wet (WRX CLUB): Finished 1st by a significant margin.
- Lake Mountain January (my 2nd Targa Rally event): Finished 7th outright in tricky conditions (rain & fog etc).
- Philip Island March (WRX Club): 1st and set a new club lap record in modified class 1.50.78
- Sandown Raceway April (WRX Club): 1st and set a new lap record in modified class 1.23.5090
- Lake Mountain May: 4th Outright and 2nd in my class.
- Sandown Raceway June (WRX Club): 1st and set a new lap record in modified class 1.22.639
- Winton Raceway July (WRX Club): 1st and set a new lap record in modified class 1.36.85
- Sandown Raceway August (WRX Club): 1st and set new lap record modified 1.21.94
- Morwell Hill Climb September (WRX Club): 1st and set new lap record of 34.93
The Car:
My 1999 Australian delivered WRX STI has a stock Turbo, stock engine (original) and stock gear box (original). I converted it from a Road Car into a Targa Rally car and performed a lot of the work myself. Car was purchased with 28,000 K’s and has only been raced on ELF. Car has now done 47,000 K’s on the original engine with mostly competition K’s and still runs as well as the day I purchased it (thanks To ELF Fuel). I’m changing to a new EJ20 STI Engine as a precaution (left stock) and expect to get at least 2 years racing from the motor with 102 RON Elf WRF Race Fuel. |
