Statement: Gary Tierney and David Carra

Thursday November 19 2009 at 3.30pm, Classic Adelaide Competitors Gary Tierney and David Carra died instantly when their 1974 Porsche colided with a tree.
Gary was a driving force for Elf in Australia, he was instrumental in obtaining Race Fuels’ agency agreement for Victoria and later Australia
David was always an Elf advocate happy to wear an Elf hat and promote the products with his fellow competitors.
Gary wanted the best and would always insist that all tasks, fabrication and components were of the highest standard, his approach to motorsport was straight forward, utilize the best people and the best equipment and drive to your own abilities.
In terms of navigators David was the best available, there was always a race to secure his services. The formidable team of Gary and David were running 2nd in the Australian Tarmac Championship prior to the accident.
Both great Men will be missed by Elf Australia and the motorsport community. |
